Easter Fun

It’s been a bit of a funny Easter this year. Normally we would have Easter and a two week school break all in one and be mad busy throughout, especially Easter weekend. This year the school holidays are spread out across the whole month and we have Easter weekend followed by the royal wedding and May Day to finish it off.

Coming into April from the driest March for years I thought we might get the April showers but it has turned out to be a scorcher of a month with temperatures up to 10°C higher than average for the month. This, you would think, should play right into our hands as great weather brings everyone out but such high temperatures can do the opposite for the safari park, being “Too hot to be sat in your car” people head for the beach only 20 minutes away or set up the BBQ in the back garden. The car journey around the drive is only part of the experience at Knowsley though and those that have visited have enjoyed fantastic days out with picnics on the grass and delicious ice creams from the new ice cream parlour, honeycomb crunch on a waffle cone for me.

There is still a week of April left to go, so if you haven’t made your Easter visit to the park why not hop in the car a have a great day out, our three baby white rhino and lion cubs are all waiting for you.

About safariuk

I am the Visitor Service Manager for UK tourist attraction Knowsley Safari Park. I have been in the post only for a few years and consider myself very fortunate to work in such a fantastic place. Not many people outside of Africa can take their lunch break while looking at elephants! This isn't the official blog for Knowsley Safari Park but my own views and opinions on things that may be happening at the park, in the leisure industry or anywhere else.
